- .gov.uk is available to UK government departments and agencies
- Restrictions:
- Applicants for .gov.uk domains must meet all of the elegibility guidelines set by the UK Central Office of Information (COI) . All applications are put before a committee who decide whether the request meets all of the guidelines.
Manage Information
- Renewal Information:
- Renewals for .gov.uk domains can only be carried out once you receive email notification that the domain is due to expire. The renewal will add an additional 2 years onto the expiry date.
- Expiry Information:
- Upon expiry, if you have not renewed, the domain will be removed immediately by JANET.
- Redemption Information:
- There is no grace period and no redemption period with .ac.uk domains. The domain will be deleted upon expiry.
- Transfer Information:
- Transfers simply require notifying JANET of your wish to change the registrar of your .ac.uk domain
