Point your domain to your e-commerce website
Domainmonster's DNS control and management options are second to none
You will need to open an account with Volusion.
There are two ways you can point your domain to your Volusion e-commerce solution. Firstly if you wish to keep your email with Domainmonster.com, secondly if you wish to transfer all email and DNS services to Volusion.
- Keeping email with Domainmonster.com
- In order to keep your email services with Domainmonster.com you will need to change the DNS A Records for your domain to point to the IP address of your Volusion website.
- 1. Pick to ‘manage’ the domain you wish to point to your site.
- 2. Click on ‘Manage DNS’.
- 3. You will need to alter the A Records for www and the root record (non www.) to the IP address specified by Volusion.
- 4. Click "Save DNS Updates" to change the IP addresses.
- 5. You will now need to log into your Volusion account and update your site with the domain details.
- Moving all DNS and email services to Volusion
- To move your DNS over to Volusion you will need to change the Name Servers associated with your domain name.
- 1. Pick to ‘manage’ the domain you wish to point to your site.
- 2. Click on ‘Name Servers & Glue Records’.
- 3. Pick ‘Use 3rd Part Name Servers’.
- 4. Add the Primary and Secondary Name Servers specified by Volusion and click ’Update Name Servers‘.
- 5. You will now need to log into your Volusion account and update your site with the domain details.
- Note: It can take upto 24 hours for Name Server changes to propagate.
