During the .SO domain registration process, there are three launch phases that you need to be aware of. These phases are named Global Sunrise, Landrush and General Availability.
If you need to protect trademarks that you own, it is critical that you apply during the .SO Sunrise domain registration phase. This is not a first come, first served phase.

Domain name length: .SO domain registrations can be a minimum of 3 characters and a maximum of 63 characters long.
Characters allowed: Latin alphabet letters A-Z, digits and hyphens are acceptable. However, domain registrations beginning or ending in hyphens or with hyphens in the 3rd and 4th positions are not accepted.
