
Why has my Sunrise or Landrush application gone to auction?
If two or more valid, credible applications are received for a domain during the relevant Sunrise or Landrush phases, then the domain will be entered into an auction procedure. The ownership of the domain will go to the highest auction bidder.
When do auctions begin?
- SUNRISE Auctions start from: 17th January 2011.
- LANDRUSH Auctions start from: 14th March 2011.
- Auctions are administered by the auction provider, Pool.com.
Auction Flow - What happens if my domain goes to auction?
- 1. At the end of the Sunrise and Landrush phases, the .SO registry will send a list of domains which have received two or more valid applications to Pool.com.
- 2. Each participant will receive at least 10 days advance notice of their relevant .SO domain auction from Pool.com.
- 3. Participants will receive an email to activate their auction account and to enter card details for payment and fraud verification.
- 4. On auction start date, auction participants will receive an auction start email.
- 5. Bidders will receive emails throughout the auction depending on its status.
- 6. On close of auctions, the auction winner will commence the billing process.
- 7. Within 10 days of the auction being marked as paid by Pool.com, the .SO registry will allocate the domain to the winning bidder.
What emails subjects should I look out for?
If your requested .SO domain has gone to auction, you should expect to receive an email from Pool.com.
