dotAsia Landrush
.asia - the dedicated top level domain for the Asia-Pacific region.
The .asia registration process varies from other new TLD's in the respect that the initial Landrush will allow anyone to attempt to register any available domains.
If the domain in question is requested by more than one party then the domain will be subject to an auction in which all interested parties will be able to bid on the domain.
If you are fortunate enough to be the only party to request a domain then it will be registered to you at the end of the Landrush period.
After the initial Landrush period comes ‘Go Live’ when the registry will be open to live registrations.
Landrush Process
Landrush is the first opportunity for the general public to register a dotAsia domain.
The dotAsia registry have opted to utilise an auction process for domains requested multiple times during the Landrush period. Landrush will function as follows:
- Landrush process
- If a domain name is requested by more than one party, the domain will be subject to an auction in which all interested parties will be able to bid on the domain. The domain auction will be conducted by Pool.com
- If you are fortunate enough to be the only bidder then it will be registered to you at the end of the Landrush period.
Anyone seriously looking for a .asia domain needs to be registering at this stage. If there is more than one applicant for the same domain name during this stage it will be auctioned to the highest bidder at the end of this period.
I'm not in the Asia-Pacific region. Can I still register a dotAsia domain?
