Bandwidth and Data Transfer
What are bandwidth and data transfer? Basically, the two terms are synonymous and refer to the amount of data sent to and from visitors and your website. If your page is 30KB in size, a visitor will be loading 30KB in their browser when they visit it.
To calculate your required bandwidth, you need to consider the size of your website, how many visitors you can expect to see, and if you are offering any files for download, the size of these files. Most personal websites are relatively small and do not receive too many visitors, so they do not need a huge amount of bandwidth. Businesses usually receive more traffic, and may have larger sites, so more bandwidth will be required. Sites offering music or video for download will need much more bandwidth to cope with high levels of traffic and downloading.
Most professional level websites will use less than 2GB of bandwidth a month. "Unlimited" bandwidth offers are usually not really unlimited, and you won’t need them anyway; only pay for what you need.
