Browser Scripting Tutorials
W3Schools is a great website with a wealth of information and tutorials for web designers and developers. On the left hand side of the website, you'll find links to all their tutorials in various different categories. Most of these tutorials feature quizzes at the end for you to test your skills. This is a quick guide to a selection of W3Schools' browser scripting tutorials.
JavaScript Tutorial
JavaScript is a scripting language which is used to do a variety of tasks, including form validation, cookie creation, design improvement, and the creation of pop-up windows with specified attributes (such as whether the toolbar will be visible). JavaScript is the most popular and widely supported scripting language on the web.
The W3Schools JavaScript tutorial covers a wide variety of aspects of JavaScript, including variables, pop-up boxes, special text and more. JavaScript objects are also discussed, as are advanced topics.
More JavaScript tutorials are available at Web Teacher and EchoEcho.
HTML DOM Tutorial
A Document Object Model (DOM) defines a standard way of accessing and manipulating HTML or XML documents. The document is represented in a tree structure with elements, attributes and text.
The W3Schools HTML DOM tutorial focuses on the DOM for HTML documents. Further explanation is given of what the DOM is and how it works, and an extensive list of DOM objects is discussed.

AJAX Tutorial
AJAX (Asynchronous JavaScript And XML) is a form of programming which produces faster, more user-friendly web applications. It is not a programming language, but a way of using existing standards which became particularly popular in 2005 by Google Suggest. AJAX uses JavaScript and HTTP requests.
The W3Schools AJAX tutorial explains the basics of AJAX as well as advanced techniques.
Other AJAX tutorials can be found at Ajax Tutorial and Tizag.
