Bad Links

Search engines use algorithms which analyse the quantity and quality of back links to a website. The quality of a back link is determined by factors such as the number of links on the source page, and the relevance of the source page in relation to the destination page. Bad links are links from pages which are completely irrelevant to the destination page, and/or contain hundreds or thousands of outbound links. Link farms are examples of such pages.

Bad links may negatively affect your search engine rankings or result in your site being blacklisted; they will certainly not improve your link popularity.
