Search Engine
A search engine is a feature of a website which helps web users to find web pages containing given terms. Search engine operators maintain databases of listed websites which have been indexed by their spiders. When a search query is inputted by the user, results are displayed in SERPs in order of what the search engines perceive as relevancy and importance. Search engines use complex algorithms to determine these values.
Because search engine results are very important for obtaining visitors to a website, many techniques have emerged for improving a website's ranking. This practice is called search engine optimisation (SEO).
