PPC

Pay-per-click (PPC) advertising is one example of paid advertising on the web. Those who opt to use PPC advertising to promote their website are charged by the provider for every click on their advertisement. This can be very cost-effective for some businesses, as they only pay when a user has already expressed an interest in their product or service by clicking their advertisement. It is possible to set a limit on the amount that can be spent on PPC advertising per day, after which the advert will disappear until the next day. Google AdWords is a popular example of a pay-per-click advertising scheme.

Pay-per-click search listings, otherwise known as sponsored or paid listings, are listings which usually appear at the top, bottom and/or sides of the SERPs of search engines, and are usually clearly marked as sponsored results, in contrast to the organic results which appear in the main part of the SERPs.
