Reciprocal Link
Reciprocal links are pairs of links, where one website links to a page of another website, and vice versa. Reciprocal links are often established by mutual agreement between the two website owners. This is usually done as a search engine optimisation (SEO) technique, in order to improve link popularity.
There is some evidence to suggest that one-way back links contribute more link popularity to the destination website than reciprocal links. Some webmasters attempt to get around this problem by avoiding circular linking (where two web pages link to one another), instead linking to different pages of one another's websites. This problem has also been addressed by the creation of link schemes and web rings, where participants in the scheme give a one-way link to one other member of the group, so that everyone receives one back link.
