Creating a subdomain and pointing it to your website or blog.
To set-up a subdomain on your domain you will firstly need to log into your Domainmonster.com account.
- 1. Pick to ‘manage’ the domain you wish to create a subdomain.
- 2. Click on ‘Manage DNS’
- 3. To create a subdomain you will need to add an A Record (If you have an IP address to point it to) or a CNAME Record (If you want to point it to another URL)
- 4. To create an A Record choose it from the dropdown and enter the required Hostname and IP Address then click ‘Add Record’(this will create your subdomain see image below).
- 5. To create a CNAME Record choose it from the dropdown and enter the required Alias and Address then click ‘Add Record’ (this will create your subdomain see image below).
Creating an email address.
There are two options for email, POP3 email and Email Forwarding. POP3 email is a fully functioning email system that will allow you to send and receive email and has a webmail interface much like Hotmail or Gmail.
Email Forwarding is a free service that will forward emails onto another email address of your choice.
POP3 Email
To set-up a POP3 Mailbox for your domain you will firstly need to log into your Domainmonster.com account.
- 1. Pick to ‘manage’ the domain you wish to assign the POP3 mailbox to.
- 2. Click on ‘POP3 Mailboxes and Email Forwarding’.
- 3. Click on the link to create a new POP3 mailbox.
- 4. Choose the number of Mailboxes you wish to create, enter the required details and choose the number of years required (see image below).
- 5. Click ‘Next’ and then click ‘Add to Basket’
- 6. Once added to your basket, follow the checkout procedure to purchase your POP3 Boxes
Email Forwarding
To set-up Email Forwarding on your domain you will firstly need to log into your Domainmonster.com account.
- 1. Pick to ‘manage’ the domain you wish to assign the POP3 mailbox to.
- 2. Click on ‘POP3 Mailboxes and Email Forwarding’
- 3. Click on ‘Email Forwarding’
- 4. Add the required email forward and the address it forwards to (see image below).
- 5. Click ‘Update Email Forwarding’
